Alizé Carrère - Human Adaptability: Our Most Important Resource in Climate Change
With the growing persistence of climate change—and the doomsday narratives that dominate the climate conversation—the good news is that human resourcefulness remains alive and well as people across the globe experiment with innovative adaptive methods on the ground. National Geographic Explorer Alizé Carrere shares her experiences from the field researching examples of such adaptation and speaks to the vital role our human creativity plays—both for the practical application of such innovations and for our resilience as a species. Alizé reminds us that our adaptability is the most important trait for our continued survival on earth.

GENERAL MEETING AND HABITAT FOR POLLINATORS COMMITTEE
David Ringer - Protecting Birds Together: Putting Love Into Action
Writer, Conservationist, and National Audubon Society Chief Network Officer David Ringer discusses the birds we love, our impact on them, and how we can work together to protect their future—and our own. When we listen, birds have much to tell us about our own wellbeing, and the health of our communities. Audubon connects people on both the national and local level to be the voice for birds: from planting native plants and trees for birds, to local action on climate change, David will share with us strategies for protecting birds and engaging the next generation. Each of us can each take action to build a brighter world—inspired by the birds we love.

GENERAL MEETING AND FLORAL DESIGN COMMITTEE
Lisa Foster and Richard McKeon - Home for the Holidays
In this virtual workshop, Lisa Foster and Richard McKeon will suggest designs for holiday decorating or gifts using materials that we already have in our homes (or can easily be ordered online). As Ralph Waldo Emerson wrote in On Self-Reliance, "At times the whole world seems to be in conspiracy to importune you with emphatic trifles. Friend, client, child, sickness, fear, want, charity, all knock at once at thy closet door and say, 'Come out unto us.' Do not spill thy soul; do not all descend; keep thy state; stay at home in thine own heaven..."
