FIELD TRIP AND WORKSHOP - CONSERVATION COMMITTEE
Freund Farm
Freund's Farm is one of a few farms in the US to run a methane digester, in which methane gas from manure is collected and burned for power. The byproducts are liquids that go back to the fields to grow next year's crops and solids which are composted and molded into CowPots. CowPots are a great substitute for plastic garden pots. Visit the farm, meet the cows, see the methane digester, watch CowPots being manufactured and see how the CowPots are used to start vegetable seeds in the greenhouse.
